CSR Scoring: towards a common evaluation tool for the media object sector?

Ban on food contact articles made of bamboo fibre and melamine, problems with the recyclability of bioplastics… Our common knowledge of materials and their impacts is evolving. Our CSR catalogues are adapting to this. More or less quickly. This has left some customers doubtful about the social, environmental and even health impact of our market. If CSR is not an exact science, a common definition of a responsible advertising object seems essential today. In order for our market to gain credibility, but also so that we can collectively improve our sourcing.

Knowing the initial relationship between the customer and the advertiser: a key factor to increase the effectiveness of the media object

This conference presents new data showing the importance that the French attach to the existing relationship with the advertiser, when evaluating a media object offered by a brand. Based on a re-analysis of our 3 successive surveys conducted between 2018 and 2020 for the 2FPCO (gathering the opinions of 7629 French people who received at least one media object in the 3 months prior to the survey), our data shows that advertisers would have a strong interest in differentiating the objects offered, depending on the type of person they are intended for. The life cycle of the customer (target, prospect, customer, loyal customer, ambassador) should be taken into account when designing media object campaigns, in order to introduce a dose of personalisation in the choice of objects offered. Our data shows that the usefulness of the object, the emotions felt on receipt, the desire to buy or to talk about the advertiser’s products are systematically reduced, or even reduced to zero, when the recipients have the impression that the object received does not live up to the relationship they thought they had with the brand.
