DUTCH ASSOCIATION PUBLISHES MANUAL ON PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS
The Dutch trade association Promotional Products Professionals (PPP) has published the Promotional Products Handbook. This 160-page book is a collection of knowledge for anyone involved in the promotional products industry.

In the dynamic landscape of media objects, new challenges arise every day for manufacturers, importers, distributors, consultants, and agencies. That's why the Dutch professional association PPP has published its book, bringing together all the knowledge in this field in a single manual. This manual was written by a team of peers with extensive knowledge and experience in the sector.
Role and importance of promotional products
The manual covers the role and importance of promotional items and textiles, also in relation to marketing campaigns. From promotional products to corporate or holiday gifts, including promotional gifts and premiums. It also describes the supply chain and the roles and responsibilities of the various actors in the chain, from producer to recipient .

Important topics such as social and product compliance, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility are also covered in detail. The book also covers the individual steps of the printing process, such as prepress and printing techniques. In addition, physical samples of all common printing and marking techniques, such as screen printing, doming, and hot stamping, are included in the dossier. Important issues related to the delivery of promotional products , such as transport, insurance, finances, conditions, and (tax) regulations , are also clearly described.

The course material is widely applicable to anyone working in the industry, whether young professionals or experienced peers. The book is therefore an ideal tool for knowledge sharing during the onboarding process for new colleagues, but it also serves as a useful reference work for seasoned industry professionals .
Increased professionalization
“Our members have expressed the need for a handbook that provides a clear and concise description of the complex issues in our sector,” says Joop van Veelen, Chairman of PPP. “The handbook fits perfectly with PPP’s approach to strengthening the professionalization of our sector . An important aspect of this is the accreditation of our members to carry the PPP quality label. PPP members must demonstrate professionalism and adhere to the pillars of commitment to the sector, knowledge and expertise, sustainability, and social affairs. The handbook is a highly valued tool that helps our members address the complex challenges our sector faces. This way, PPP members are even better equipped to assist their clients as true expert advisors, enabling them to stand out in the market.”

PPP is already in discussions with several professional associations in Europe about the possibility of adapting the book and making it available in other countries.
