CYBERNECARD: CLIMATE-NEUTRAL BAGS AND BACKPACKS

CTCO - 2022/03/02

Cybernecard‘s mission is to work with partners who manufacture products as responsibly as possible. This includes measuring the carbon footprint of the products we offer to our customers. As such, we are proud to announce that from 2022 onwards, our entire range of Halfar® bags and backpacks will be certified as climate neutral.

This applies to both the synthetic and natural fibre collections, as well as to those made from new and recycled fibres. In addition, the entire collection is available in a wide range of durable, functional and attractively styled bags in a variety of colours and with a high availability in stock.

Climate neutrality guarantee

For all customers who choose Halfar® bags, climate neutrality translates into something very practical: Halfar® guarantees that every bag ordered from stock in the standard range will have mathematically zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The “Climate Neutral” cardboard label on each Halfar® bag certifies the climate neutrality directly on the product. This guarantee applies to the raw materials, the delivered bags and their recycling (cradle to grave + waste). This means that even the disposal of the bag by the end customer is already compensated.

A good example is Halfar®’s eco-designed isothermal shopper, ref. 1818030: it was awarded the PSI Promotional Gift Award 2022, in the “Premium Product” category.

What is carbon offsetting?

Carbon offsetting is an internationally recognised way of taking responsibility for unavoidable carbon emissions. It means that the carbon footprint of a company, product, service or event has been calculated on the basis of internationally recognised standards and fully offset by supporting international climate protection projects. In short, offsetting a tonne of carbon means that there will be one tonne less carbon dioxide in the atmosphere than would otherwise have occurred.

Wherever possible, Halfar® avoids and reduces CO2 emissions. For example, through its photovoltaic system installed in 2001, which covers a large part of its electricity needs. Or through design and prototyping, with a focus on product sustainability. Optimised transport and a modern logistics centre avoid unnecessary travel and conserve resources through the use of modern technology.

Halfar® offsets all unavoidable CO2 emissions by supporting climate protection projects, for example through reforestation measures or by replacing climate-damaging technologies with climate-friendly alternatives. They have also launched three climate protection projects in China and India, which are certified according to international standards and contribute to a more climate-friendly energy supply in these countries.
